PNB statement to Excel
Punjab National Bank statements add a transaction number and a branch name to every line, and the balance often ends in Cr. or Dr. This page strips out what you don't need, keeps what you do, and proves each row against the balance.
Convert your PNB statement
Private by design: your PDF is read by your own browser. It is never uploaded, and nothing is stored on a server. The password, if you type one, is used once to open the file and then forgotten.
Text-based PDF, up to 25 MB and 300 pages. On a computer you can also drop the file here.
Reading…
Always compare the converted file with your original statement before using it for tax filing, loans or audits. The converted file is not an official bank document.
How to download your PNB statement
PNB's published download process for retail internet banking describes where the statement lives.
- Sign in to PNB retail internet banking from the official website (pnb.bank.in).
- Open My Accounts, then A/C Details, Balance & Statement.
- Choose the account and the statement period.
- Generate the statement and download it.
PNB also lists statement options for its mobile app on its mobile banking page. If the menu names on your screen differ, follow PNB's own help page.
How we read a PNB statement
A PNB statement usually carries these columns. The transaction number and branch name are left out of the export.
| Column in the PDF | Column in your spreadsheet |
|---|---|
| Txn No. | (not exported) |
| Txn Date | Date |
| Description | Description |
| Branch Name | (not exported) |
| Cheque No. | Reference |
| Dr Amount | Debit |
| Cr Amount | Credit |
| Balance | Balance |
- Balances such as 12,345.00 Cr. are read as positive; Dr. means overdrawn and becomes negative.
- Dates in dd/mm/yyyy form are read day first.
- The Txn No. column looks numeric but is recognised by its position, so it never becomes an amount.
- Cheque numbers keep their leading zeros because they are stored as text.
Common problems
Branch names appear inside the description
If the branch column sits very close to the description, choose "Punjab National Bank" under Bank layout so the PNB hints are used, then compare one row with your PDF.
The statement is a scanned copy from the branch
Branch-issued copies are sometimes scans. Scanned PDFs are not supported yet; download a fresh copy from internet banking.
It asks for a password
PNB decides whether a statement PDF is protected and with what. The email or PNB's help page explains it; we never see the password.
The confidence badge is Low
Fewer than 90% of rows matched. That usually means the columns were read in the wrong order; try the PNB layout or Generic and compare.
FAQ
Is the Cr./Dr. suffix kept?
It is turned into a sign: positive for credit balances, negative for overdrawn ones, so Excel formulas work.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser on a phone or computer.
Is StatementKit connected to PNB?
No. We are not affiliated with any bank; the PNB name only describes which layout the tool understands.
StatementKit is not affiliated with or endorsed by Punjab National Bank. Bank names are used only to describe compatibility.
